As with all of our burners, versatility and flexibility are prime considerations in the Webster EJB series design. EJB series burners can be adapted to fit in most any furnace configuration and combustion environment and the same burner configuration can be used in multiple applications, making the EJB extremely versatile. JBS(X) High Efficiency, Low Excess Air Burners

JBS and JBS(X) High Swirl burners reduce emissions while providing higher turndowns. With turndown rates as high as 12:1 for Natural gas, JBS and JBS(X) High Swirl burners offer industry leading combustion efficiency with low excess air.  Webster’s advanced head design is unique in its ability to provide dual manifolds to handle multiple fuels for challenging alternative fuel applications.

The firing head of the JBS places a high spin on the combustion air for improved mixing and flame stability. This allows the burner to operate with lower NOx emissions. The firing head also keeps the low fire flame off of the burner so that it can operate without heat damage even at high turndown rates. For watertubes, a special refractory is used to promote mixing before the flame enters the boiler chamber.

The JBS burner is available as a standard gas and/or oil-fired burner (Model JBS) and as a low NOx burner (Model JBSX). Both models fire natural and digester gas, LP, and #2 fuel oil as well as a combination of gas and oil. The JBS is also available with heavy, #4 through #6 oil (heavy oil burners are not UL/cUL listed).

The JBS(X) series is offered from 40 to 300 BHP. The entire series is UL/cUL listed for gas and # 2 oil.

Different oil systems are available on both burner models – a pressure atomizing return flow nozzle (to 350 hp) and an air atomizing system. They can also be equipped with a linkage control system and Webster Camnetics fuel control or parallel position linkageless control systems.

Several low NOx options are available, using Induced Flue Gas Recirculation (IGFR). The standard offering includes 60, 30, and 20 PPM NOx on natural gas. For lower NOx levels, select Webster’s HDRMB.

JBE(X) Series Burners

Webster’s JBE(X) boiler burner is a high efficiency, low excess air burner that incorporates a unique high swirl firing head to improve commercial boiler combustion efficiency. The Webster Combustion model HDRA-RF is a register-style burner that allows users to shape the flame by automatically controlling the register vanes to optimally fit their rotary dryer and combustion zone. This allows the Webster burner to operate with a shorter flame than products offered by other asphalt burner manufacturers. This flame-shaping capability means the flame will not impinge on the material, and CO can be maintained at much lower levels than currently available. In addition, NOx levels for the HDRA-RF are significantly lower than typically seen in asphalt applications. The Webster Combustion HDRA-RF operates with lower motor HP, an optionally supplied VFD and an inlet air damper, which allows for higher turndown ranges to reduce energy usage and provide greater total energy savings.

The new “SC” series burner from Webster Combustion combines the reliable and rugged burner technology Webster is known for with a new, patented staged combustion firing head. This new offering allows the user to operate with low emissions without the cost and expense of external Flue Gas Recirculation piping, or the maintenance issues associated with surface combustion technology. The SC burner can achieve 30ppm NOx levels while maintaining a very low O2, which results in excellent efficiency, and can achieve as low as 9ppm NOx levels with an increase in the O2.

When combined with Webster’s patented Temp-A-TrimTM, the SC burner will maintain even lower excess air levels as operating conditions change, saving fuel and electricity and lowering maintenance costs. HDRMB Ultra Low NOx Burners

Webster Combustion’s HDRMB burner employs high efficiency, dual-fuel rapid mix burner technology to enhance low NOx applications.

Proven in hundreds of ultra low NOx applications over the past 20 years, Webster’s dependable rapid mix burner technology provides emissions as low as 9ppm NOx and 50ppm CO. The performance of our HD series burner, combined with the unique ability to fire gas or oil without any modifications, makes the HDRMB the perfect burner for any ultra low NOx application.

Rapid mix burner technology is distinguished from other technologies by its low excess air design and dual-fuel firing capabilities. The HDRMB utilizes a technique called flue gas recirculation to operate at 3%-4% O2 stack levels and achieve lower excess air requirements. Compared to other designs that employ a surface combustion head operating with 8%–10% O2, the HDRMB burner can improve boiler efficiency as much as 3.5% by operating at lower excess air levels and reducing stack losses.

The HDRMB utilizes a conventional firing head which is not susceptible to thermal shock and does not require an expensive air filter. The dual fuel design allows oil firing without changing the firing head or requiring other mechanical modifications. This reduces maintenance and improves reliability when switching between gas and oil operation.

The inherently low excess air operation and dual fuel capability of the HDRMB burner reduces fuel and energy usage and enhances boiler efficiency. Webster customers not only save on energy and maintenance, but enjoy a faster payback on their investment.

Low NOx Boiler Burners

Webster has a long history of providing boiler burners that can achieve low nox performance when burning natural gas. Our technology acts to create much better fuel/air mixing at the point of combustion for better efficiency with other specific technologies depending on the application requirements.

We offer sub-30 ppm NOx levels when burning natural gas across all of our products.  The JBSXHDRVX, and HDSX can all be configured to suit specific NOx levels.

We also offer sub 9 ppm NOx levels on our HDRMBJBFX, and SC product lines.  See the specific literature for each of these products.

The differences between the product lines have to with the degree of mixing provided and the controls to manage a much tighter range of NOx emissions.

Also, Temp A Trim acts as combustion control mechanism to manage excess air for the boiler burner.  As the combustion air temperature increases, the NOx formation will also increase.  Temp A Trim is standard on our HDRMB and JBFX products, and is offered as an option on all other products.
