Going green is all about taking action that is not only good for the planet, but good for the wallet. J. Lorber Company is committed to reducing its' impact on the environment. Our vehicles are the most efficient diesel trucks on the market today. We have a recycle program that runs the gamete from cardboard and paper to scrap metals. We encourage our customers to use our facilities for the disposal of used products for recycling. Our facilities use Energy Star products, lights, heating equipment and programmable thermostats.
J. Lorber company has been on the forefront of distributing products to it's customers who are trying to "Go Green". We have supplied Universities and School Districts with items such as waterless urinals, water coolers that are recyclable, electronic faucets and flushometers . We are the first company ever to design and sell the first correctional facility in the country. The Riverside Correctional Facility had 45 solar panels installed to provide hot water for the inmates. Making Philadelphia the “Greenest City in America” is the goal of Philadelphia's current administration and with the Riverside Correctional Facility they are on their way. The system will provide energy savings of 20% to 25% annually during the anticipated 25 year life of the system saving an estimated $1.1 million dollars and one million pounds of carbon emissions.
